= COALITION OF INDEPENDENT VOTERS FOR AN INFORMED CITIZENRY =
                THE SECRET:

"We stand in the presence of an awakened nation,
impatient of partisan make-believe."
        —Woodrow Wilson

At different times, they have been referred to by different names.  Back in the 1960's, they were referred to as the "Silent Majority" !  But regardless of the label, they invariably seem to be characterized as the most disenfranchised segment of our population. At least, that is how they tend to perceive themselves:  On one hand, not completely comfortable with either of the two major parties; yet hesitant to abandon that partisan affiliation out of a fear of being essentially dis-enfranchised from the entire voting process?

"I was no party man myself, and
the first wish of my heart was, if
parties did exist, to reconcile them."
                                   —George Washington

There is, however, a kind of a secret that, with some exceptions,  most of the leaders of the two major parties would frankly prefer that you were not aware of.  But, at the same time, it happens to be something that is actually rather interesting to ponder.  What it is, essentially, is that even though the independent voters possess this sense that they are out of the political loop, what they actually comprise, as a whole, is a critical "Swing Vote" that might virtually have the power to decide almost any election.

"There is nothing which I dread so much as
a division of the republic into two great parties,
each arranged under its leader, and concerting
measures in opposition to each other. This, in my
humble apprehension, it to be dreaded as the
greatest political evil under our Constitution."
— John Adams

And perhaps what is even more amazing is that in spite of the potential power that they actually possess, they, at the same time,  have no idea of the degree of power that they possess!  At least, they have not put it all together and figured it out........as of yet!  Now, as long as they remain unaware of how much power they might hold by organizing into some type of a coalition, the two major parties can  continue to keep them in the dark, manipulate them and maintain a virtual dominance over the entire political process.  Of course, that could change at any time.

"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions
to the creed of any party of men whatever in religion,
in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else where I
was capable of thinking for myself. Such addiction is
the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could
not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all."
                                                      —Thomas Jefferson

And we are not necessarily talking about the creation of some type of a third party!  Not that we are necessarily ruling that out as a possibility.  After all, that was the approach that Ross Perot and Ralph Nader attempted to utilize.  But there may be more effective approaches that utilize strategies that neither of those groups availed themselves of.

"I shall seek the support of the people of both parties.
I can do this honorably because I am an independent
and therefore in a position to serve the people regardless
 of their politics or mine."
                                              —Governor Earl Warren

Just imagine if this virtual "Swing Vote" were organized into a unified a voting block.  Would there be any limit to the potential political weight that independent voters could be in a position to leverage by merely harnessing the power that they have always possessed but just have not previously been aware of.  And were such a level of potential power brought into play immediately following a critical or "re-alligning election", to what degree would the total impact be increased?

Coalition of independent voters for an informed citizenry seeks to coordinate the political power of non-bi-partisan aligned, third and minor party citizens into a non-polarized electoral swing vote.
